We met up with Nicole's cousin for lunch out by her office and ate some delicious sushi. And I realized as I paid the bill that water and soda cost the same here. I had been ordering water this whole time thinking it was completely free! Now that I know that's not the case, I'm definitely going to go back to feeding my soda addiction and not feel guilty about it at all. After lunch, we checked out the mall, Pankrác, that was right across the street. Pretty typical, except for the giant supermarket on the bottom floor! So we ventured in and had our first grocery shopping experience in the Czech Republic.
It was pretty interesting trying to pick out cheeses and snack foods, considering that we had no idea what flavors we were getting. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with any cheese, and we found that out to be true with dinner tonight. But snack foods, that's another story. I bought these cookies that looked scrumptious and chocolately, and turned out to be bran cookies. Not my favorite. And what appeared to be cheese puffs, turned out to be very bland corn puffs with a strange aftertaste. We tried! I guess we'll have to keep guessing on what junk food to buy!
